An Instructional Practices Assessment puts trained Artisan Teacher observers into each and every classroom for the purpose of recognizing an entire faculty’s collective instructional efficacy. An IPA seeks to identify and clarify a faculty’s pedagogical repertoire. The IPA report provides insightful recommendations to support a faculty’s professional learning aims and to focus administrators’ and/or instructional coaches’ feedback and coaching work. Just as a skillful classroom observer can identify an individual teacher’s unique instructional abilities and growth opportunities, an IPA describes a faculty’s aggregate instructional strengths and most relevant, common avenues for growth.
